The need to keep our distance from each other has forced a radical shift in preferences in all levels: consuming, making and relating with one another.
The reflexive response has been an incline towards virtual practices; the more time and resources we spend in and on virtual spaces, the more powerfully they shape our lives and the more important it becomes to reflect on how we might engage in virtual practices moving forward.
As we understand it, virtual design is any object, space, apparel, game, media or experience made in the digital space for the digital space. As we build a more robust understanding of what it means, might we also ask ourselves: Where are we going with it? Where do we want to go? How do we get there?
In line with some of the most pressing issues our society faces today, ACIIID invites you to reflect on virtual design with us through the lenses of sustainability, equality and community.
