Etro Spring-Summer 2021 Show

Breaking barriers, Etro held the very first physical fashion show after the pandemic lockdown. Held in the courtyard of the Four Seasons Hotel in Milan, the brand showcased carefree clothing of relaxed fittings emblazoned with classic Etro prints in luscious sultry colors that lean on the bohemian style Etro is known for.

Aside from socially distanced face-mask cladded guests that came in from different parts of the globe, models were a diversified mix that Veronica and Kean Etro intended as part of the brand’s ethos of inclusivity, and maybe even a response to the worldwide issue of racial slurs and protests that took place in the middle of the pandemic. It was a sensitive topic that they wanted to abruptly address by being diverse and conscious as a fashion house. Sustainability also was a main theme that Veronica and Kean focused on, setting the tone of how the collection was conceptualised and constructed. Reused archival fabrics, environmentally friendly textiles, and repurposed vintage clothes were played around in the clothes.

As the pandemic continue on, and the world sit and gaze into the uncertain future that lies ahead, Etro walks with optimism, chin held high, and a new reformed vision of clothing and ethics that they vow to continuously carry on. Hopefully Veronica and Kean’s courage of conducting the first physical show in months bring on hope, spark creativity, and herald to the world, that whatever the situation, “the show must go on”.
